Description
This refrigerator is a really great option if you want a large refrigerator and freezer that squeezes itself into a very small footprint (only 16.4 inches wide and 17.4″ deep). They can accomplish this by making the compressor external to the unit that is “pre-charged” with couplings, allowing it to be remotely mounted and then connected to the unit during installation.
The refrigerator ships with the external compressor connected to the refrigerator with copper coolant lines that are 1.5 meters long (4.9 feet). So, you can locate the compressor up to that distance away from the refrigerator. Because the copper coolant lines cannot be disconnected from the refrigerator itself, if you are installing into an existing cabinet/frame, you will need to cut an opening/notch in the frame large enough for the compressor unit to pass through. The compressor unit is approximately 6.5″ x 6.5″ x 13″.
The top area is accessed from a door that contains the primary refrigerator area and a separate freezer compartment. The bottom is a drawer-style refrigerator area that uses stainless steel hinge rails for sturdiness and fluidity. Includes a Night mode feature with low noise level and reduced power consumption.
Unit can be powered from either 12 volt DC or 120 volt AC! (AC converter included).
This refrigerator ships with the doors hinged on the right side but can be swapped so that it hinges from the left side. Details on this are included in the manual.
The front panels can be easily customized with other materials that are the same thickness. You can see an example of this in the image to the left that has panels made from laminate matching the cabinets.

- What the minimum temp of both the freezer and fridge were? At 25 C degrees ambient temperature , – 18 / + 2 C
- How easy would that be to get serviced by some local HVAC ? Most professional repair shops can service it.
- What type of refrigerant? R134a
- What is night mode? Does it automatically reduce the temperature value Or only allow to operate at certain intervals? Or run at some reduced compressor setting that is quieter? With the night mode the unit runs at minimum speed and minimum temperature ( high temperature )
- Are there separate temperature controls for the Freezer and Refrigerator? There is just one control/setting for Freezer & Refrigerator.
Note, the video shows this model with the black color panels. The refrigerator is available in both black and grey finishes.
Ships Via Truck Freight
This item must be shipped to you via truck freight on a pallet. You can choose to have the refrigerator shipped directly to your residential address which includes a "lift gate" or to the nearest shipping terminal which, in most cases, is 10-60 miles from your address. If you live in a rural area you might be farther from a terminal. Many customers prefer to pick up their shipment from a terminal to avoid altering their schedule around a freight delivery that can sometimes be up to a 4 to 6-hour window. We Protect Your Shipment
Unlike most retailers, we take great care to protect your refrigerator in transit. Each shipment is wrapped in heavy-duty foam insulation and carefully strapped to a pallet (example photo). Power Converter Box
Some Vitrifrigo refrigerators have 12/24 volt DC AND 120/240 volt AC capability built into their controllers. Others CAN be used with both DC and AC but require using an included (at no additional charge) converter box. This depends largely on when the unit was manufactured since Vitrifrigo experienced supply chain issues during the Covid-19 pandemic.
