  • Replace the bulky 120-volt AC power supply that comes with the Starlink Gen 3 system with this 12-volt DC adapter.
  • Check out our blog post featuring this power adapter here.
  • This DC adapter plugs directly into the Starlink Gen 3 router eliminating the need to run an inverter or generator so you can power your Starlink system directly off your 12-volt battery bank/system.
  • Power consumption was tested with a constant upload/download internet to be 63 watts (4.5A at 13.8V) compared to around 82 watts when powered through the standard AC adapter running from a MultiPlus 12/3000/120 inverter/charger.
  • We recommend a 15-amp fuse and appropriate wire gauge to allow for the “snow melt” function of the Starlink dish when necessary. The power consumption when the Starlink system is starting up is higher as well (around 10-12 amps).
  • We recommend dedicating a circuit to this power supply so that it’s the only load on the circuit. We notice that, when combined with LED lighting, it can make the lights flicker.
  • Ships with bare wires for the 12-volt power supply so you can connect it to your DC load center/fuse box with the appropriate wire and circuit protection.
  • Please note that this gets very warm. Be sure to provide adequate air flow.

NOTE: This can also be used to power an appropriate POE (power over ethernet) to eliminate the Starlink router entirely (little to no power saving unless you already have a dedicated cellular MIMO router like a Peplink, etc).

I’m happy to give a shout out to VanLife Outfitters. These folks are an incredible example of how a company should conduct business. Although I’m building a truck camper, I have bought several things from VanLife outfitters and their customer service is bar none . I would never hesitate recommending VanLife outfitters to anyone whether they are building a van camper or boat. And I might add even a tiny home. Everyone that I’ve talked to have been nothing but incredible. In particular, Jason in technical support was an incredible blessing to me. I had a problem with the Aqua Hot Gen 1 heater I bought from them. It was not the heater fault, but something I did. Jason helped bird-dog the solution and together we got it fixed. He stuck with me, did research, and called me back several times to make sure that the problem was resolved. These people know the business, many have their on rigs, which gives them the best experience. Thanks you Vanlife Outfitters!!!!
