Description
| Keep light out & privacy in with our Front Windshield Cover designed to turn your van into a stealth camping machine. Made with 5.0mm double faced aluminum insulation, our covers offer superior temperature regulation and no light leakage. And thanks to its 6 integrated fiberglass rods, this cover will stay stiffly in place without any sag. This cover uses integrated fiberglass rods to create stiffness to secure it into place. We recommend using your sun shades and rear view mirror to help hold it in place. |
Now available with an optional silver reflective backing!
Designed specifically for high-UV climates, our reflective window covers feature a reflective laminate exterior that keeps heat at bay and doesn't fade in the sun. The preferred solution for daily or ongoing use, reflective covers protect your front cab in both hot and cold temperatures.

What is the R-Value of these window covers?
R-value is a building insulation spec based on 6 inches of insulation. Without 6 inches of insulation, an R-value will be inaccurate. The window covers are made with 5 mm automotive-grade PE foam insulation. If you install the covers on all windows and leave them in all day, the inside of the van will be approximately 20 degrees F cooler than the outside temperature (assuming the rest of the van is properly insulated and the cabin is separated from the cockpit).
To install your Front Windshield Cover:
-
Place window cover on dash and open completely with the black fabric facing outward.
-
Push window cover completely down deep into where the window's glass meets the dash. No need to push hard, just make sure it is seated correctly across the entire length of the window.
Depending on the van, next steps are:
MERCEDES-BENZ: Vans with rear view mirror, lift up the window cover and wrap around the rear view mirror one side at a time with the cut out. Use the magnet to close around it. If you have a technology box or don't have rear view mirror, use the provided hooks that go under the headliner and once hooked on, pull cord locks on either side to pull up close to the glass. If you don't need them, they can be either not used or removed.
- Roll your hand across the top of one side of the cover to the side of the van and pull down sun visor to hold in place. Repeat step on the other side.
- If you have light leakage coming in, push the window cover into these gaps to best seal it up.
- To remove window cover, reverse the process.
FORD TRANSIT / RAM PROMASTER: Use the same steps above. There is not an additional hook/tension system on these covers as it is not needed for these vans.

I’m happy to give a shout out to VanLife Outfitters. These folks are an incredible example of how a company should conduct business. Although I’m building a truck camper, I have bought several things from VanLife outfitters and their customer service is bar none . I would never hesitate recommending VanLife outfitters to anyone whether they are building a van camper or boat. And I might add even a tiny home. Everyone that I’ve talked to have been nothing but incredible. In particular, Jason in technical support was an incredible blessing to me. I had a problem with the Aqua Hot Gen 1 heater I bought from them. It was not the heater fault, but something I did. Jason helped bird-dog the solution and together we got it fixed. He stuck with me, did research, and called me back several times to make sure that the problem was resolved. These people know the business, many have their on rigs, which gives them the best experience. Thanks you Vanlife Outfitters!!!!

My husband and I are doing our first vanbuild. As rookies, we have found Vanlife Outfitters to be a trusted resource for ease of product shopping and purchasing, video demonstrations, guidance and excellent customer service. They were particularly a great one-stop shop when building our electrical system.

I ordered most of the parts for my sprinter conversion from them. They have absolutely the best customer service. I had issues with my fridge installation duing the weekend and eamiled their customer service for help. Both times, they emailed me back with the instructions/help I need on Sunday. Thank you and this is absolutely my go to place.
