In stock
The Sun Seeker is the natural next step for any van electrical system. Whether you're adding solar to one of our electrical bundles or upgrading an existing system, this is a complete, ready-to-install solar package — everything from the panel(s) and charge controller down to the mounting hardware, cable seals, wiring, terminals, and fuses. No hunting for missing pieces, no second orders. Just pick your system voltage, panel count, and panel size, and you have everything you need to start harvesting free energy from the sun.
⏱️ Skip the headache — we've already sized and spec'd every component, wire, terminal connector, and fuse to work together for your exact configuration. No spreadsheets, no wasted time, no guesswork.
💰 Pay for what you need, nothing more — wire and terminals are typically sold in bulk, leaving you with an expensive pile of leftovers you'll never use. Every Sun Seeker bundle includes exactly what your install requires, plus a few spares for peace of mind.
Who Is This Fo
r?
The Sun Seeker is for any vanlifer who wants to stop relying on shore power and driving to keep their battery topped off. It's a great fit if you:
- Own one of our electrical system bundles and are ready to add solar to your system
- Have an existing van electrical system and want a complete, no-guesswork solar upgrade
- Spend time boondocking or dry camping where shore power isn't an option
- Want to extend your off-grid range without having to drive to recharge via your DC-DC charger
- Are tired of planning your trips around campground availability and want more freedom
- Want a system that's professionally spec'd and fully compatible with Victron electrical systems and the VictronConnect app
What Can It Do?
Solar is a game-changer for van life — it silently replenishes your battery all day long without you doing anything. Here's what you can expect from the Sun Seeker:
- ☀️ Passively recharge your battery while parked — no driving, no plugging in required
- 🔋 Significantly extend your off-grid range — a full day of sun can add 50-200+ amp-hours back into your battery bank depending on your panel count and conditions
- 🧊 Keep your fridge running indefinitely in good sun conditions, without touching your battery reserves
- 📱 Monitor your solar production in real time via the VictronConnect app — see exactly how many watts are coming in at any moment
- 🏕️ Camp anywhere, for as long as you want — forests, deserts, trailheads, anywhere the sun hits your roof
- 🔌 Reduce or eliminate your dependence on shore power — great for vanlifers who want to get off the grid for good
What it won't do: fully replace shore power or alternator charging in every situation. Solar output depends on sunlight, roof space, season, and geography — cloudy weeks, shaded campsites, and short winter days will all reduce production. We recommend pairing solar with your DC-DC charger and shore power access as a complete three-source charging strategy rather than relying on any single source alone.
What's Included
Every Sun Seeker bundle includes everything you need for a complete solar install — down to the wire, terminals, and heat shrink. No second orders, no missing pieces.
Every variant includes:
-
Newpowa Monocrystalline Solar Panel(s) — 200W or 220W per panel
- High-efficiency monocrystalline cells for maximum output in the rooftop space you have available.
-
Solar Panel Z Bracket Mounts (Black) - 8 per panel
- For flat-mounting your panels directly to your roof rack or van roof.
-
Solar MC4 Extension Cable Pair
- Runs from your panels down into your van to connect to the charge controller.
-
Scanstrut Horizontal Double-Entry Cable Seal
- A weatherproof roof penetration seal that lets your solar cables pass through your roof without exposing your van to water intrusion.
-
Solar Disconnect
- A safety breaker between your panels and charge controller that lets you cut solar input without disconnecting your battery
-
Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT Charge Controller (sized to your selected voltage and panel count)
- Optimizes the power coming from your panels and delivers it to your battery as efficiently as possible. Connects to the VictronConnect app for real-time solar monitoring, and to the Cerbo GX if your system has one (with the addition of a Ve.Direct cable).
-
Mega Fuse (sized to your selected voltage and panel count)
- Protects your charge controller wiring at your Lynx Distributor or fuse holder in your main electrical system (not included).
-
Wiring, ferrules, ring terminals, lugs and heat shrink
- Everything needed for a complete install, sized to your panel count and system voltage. We only source high-quality parts, including Ancor wire and terminals.
What changes by variant:
Every Sun Seeker bundle is configured specifically for your panel count and system voltage. The charge controller, fuses, wire gauge, and terminals are all automatically sized to match — you don't need to figure any of that out yourself. That's the whole point.
Available configurations:
- Small — 1 panel | 200W | 12V or 24V
- Medium — 2 panels | 200W or 220W | 12V, 24V, or 48V (200W only)
- Large — 3 panels | 200W or 220W | 12V, 24V, or 48V
*Note, our solar kits are spec'd and intended to be wired in series only, not parallel.
What about panel size? — 200W or 220W:
The difference isn't just wattage — it's physical dimensions. The 200W panel is narrower and fits better on tighter rooflines like the Ford Transit and Mercedes Sprinter. The 220W panel is wider and takes better advantage of the broader roof space on the Ram ProMaster. When in doubt, measure your usable roof space before selecting.

What You Get Beyond the Hardware
- 📋 Comprehensive wiring and connector diagram included for install guidance — laminated, large format
- 🛠️ Backed by Vanlife Outfitters' expert install and troubleshooting support
What's Not Included
Unlike most solar kits, the Sun Seeker includes everything down to the wire, terminals, and heat shrink — so there are no additional purchases needed to complete your install. The only things not included are:
- Tools — crimpers, wire strippers, a drill, etc.
- An electrical system — the Sun Seeker adds solar charging to an existing system but doesn't include a battery, inverter, or load center. If you're starting from scratch, pair it with one of our electrical bundles.
Pairing With Our Electrical Bundles
The Sun Seeker is designed to drop right into any of our electrical system bundles. Each bundle is solar-ready out of the box — just add the Sun Seeker in the voltage that matches your system and you have a complete, three-source charging setup: solar, alternator, and shore power.
| Electrical Bundle | Compatible Voltage | Recommended Panels |
|---|---|---|
| Base Camp - Lite | 12V | 1-2 Panels |
| Weekend Warrior - Core | 12V | 2-3 Panels |
| Trail Blazer - Pro | 12V | 2-3 Panels |
*Please note - this bundle requires additional prep time by our team - the lead time is 3-5 days before it ships out.

I’m happy to give a shout out to VanLife Outfitters. These folks are an incredible example of how a company should conduct business. Although I’m building a truck camper, I have bought several things from VanLife outfitters and their customer service is bar none . I would never hesitate recommending VanLife outfitters to anyone whether they are building a van camper or boat. And I might add even a tiny home. Everyone that I’ve talked to have been nothing but incredible. In particular, Jason in technical support was an incredible blessing to me. I had a problem with the Aqua Hot Gen 1 heater I bought from them. It was not the heater fault, but something I did. Jason helped bird-dog the solution and together we got it fixed. He stuck with me, did research, and called me back several times to make sure that the problem was resolved. These people know the business, many have their on rigs, which gives them the best experience. Thanks you Vanlife Outfitters!!!!

My husband and I are doing our first vanbuild. As rookies, we have found Vanlife Outfitters to be a trusted resource for ease of product shopping and purchasing, video demonstrations, guidance and excellent customer service. They were particularly a great one-stop shop when building our electrical system.

I ordered most of the parts for my sprinter conversion from them. They have absolutely the best customer service. I had issues with my fridge installation duing the weekend and eamiled their customer service for help. Both times, they emailed me back with the instructions/help I need on Sunday. Thank you and this is absolutely my go to place.
