This is the optional external antenna for the GX LTE 4G-A cellular modem — the modem that pairs with a Cerbo GX — as well as the GlobalLink 520. The GX LTE 4G comes with a small indoor antenna, and for many installations it works just fine. But if your van is parked in a low-signal area, or the modem is tucked inside a cabinet or behind metal paneling, this outdoor antenna is an easy upgrade that can make a real difference in connection reliability. Mount it to the exterior of your van, get it out from behind any shielding, and give your system a better shot at holding a stable VRM connection wherever the road takes you.

A Note on the Two Outdoor Antenna Options

Victron makes two outdoor antennas for the GX LTE 4G — a 2G/3G version and this 4G version (part number GSM900100400). The specs are identical on paper, but the 4G antenna is tuned for 4G frequencies and will perform slightly better on 4G networks. Since most of the US cellular network has shifted heavily toward 4G LTE, this is the version we stock and recommend for van builders.

This antenna is for the GX LTE 4G-A cellular modem only — it is not a general-purpose cellular or WiFi antenna and will not boost phone signal or internet for other devices in your van.

My husband and I are doing our first vanbuild.
