Description
SPECIAL NOTE FOR VAN YEARS 2020 to Current: Ford changed the front dash cup holder near the front door glass. To install your window cover more easily, you might need to “crack” the door to slide it into place around this object.
What’s Included:
[2] Front Door Window Covers (Left & Right Doors)
[1] Storage sack
When you’re on the road, privacy in your cab at night is paramount. Install this pair of covers on the driver & passenger windows to instantly give your home on wheels more security and temperature regulation.
What is the R-Value of these window covers?
R-value is a building insulation spec based on 6 inches of insulation. Without 6 inches of insulation, an R-value will be inaccurate. The window covers are made with 5 mm automotive-grade PE foam insulation. If you install the covers on all windows and leave them in all day, the inside of the van will be approximately 20 degrees F cooler than the outside temperature (assuming the rest of the van is properly insulated and the cabin is separated from the cockpit).
To install your Front Door covers:
-
Choose a window to work with first and match up the cover shape to that window with the black side facing outward.
-
Push window cover completely into the closed door frame with equal amounts showing around all the sides to form a seal.
-
Push in as needed and make slight up/down side to side movements to get the best fit.
-
Repeat on other side of van to the other door.
-
Depending on the van, next steps are:
-
MERCEDES-BENZ: If your van doors have a grab handle, fold back the flap to install correctly in place.
-
FORD TRANSIT / RAM PROMASTER
-
Use the same steps above.
-
Make sure to move your cover down behind the plastic trim where needed for a good fit. When new, they will need some time to soften and fit correctly.
