We’re excited that the long-awaited 3.0 version of the SmarTemp digital controller for our the popular Air Top 2000 STC and EVO 40 heaters is being released. We have many of them on order with the goal of updating our heater kits for Promasters/Sprinter vans and Ford Transit vans with this new version of the controller as soon as we have adequate inventory!
Some highlights on the new version of the controller:
- The controller is available in 2 versions: SmarTemp 3.0 (part number 5013873A) and SmarTemp 3.0 Bluetooth Timer (5013874A). We will only be stocking the Bluetooth version (5013874A).
- The 3.0 version has removed the micro USB port in favor of Bluetooth operation which can be paired with Android or Apple devices. Search your respective app store for “Webasto SmarTemp 3.0 by Globus Sistemas”. The app includes a significant amount of diagnostic information that was previously only available with specialized diagnostic software that only dealers/technicians had.
- The wiring harness connections are unique and therefore not directly replaceable for the 2.0. In other words, you won’t be able to use the 3.0 controller with an older 2.0 wiring harness. However, adapter harnesses should be available for each heater model and by type of controller being replaced.
- We have been told that the Smartemp 2.0 will continue to be available for the near term and will phase out as all product becomes available with 3.0.
