Step 2: Make a foundational decision on the type of system you'll be building. We've narrowed this down to three basic approaches/architectures - all of which use lithium-type batteries, and each one has a detailed blog post, free example wiring diagram, and, for the Victron-based systems, a corresponding kit/bundle of products that you can configure to your specific needs. You'll save a bundle with our bundles! You can think of this as the primary components and the products in the bundle are specific to the architecture/system design you've chosen.

Step 3: Add on the "accessories" that you need for your particular system with our best price accessories bundle that includes everything from shore power inlets to circuit protection and wiring, and our solar components bundle that includes everything from mounting brackets to solar extension cables and charge controllers. These are the products that will tie everything together into a fully functional power system but are not specific to a particular example wiring diagram/architecture.

What's Included & Customization

This is a highly configurable bundle so you can get exactly what you need! The images do not reflect the particular combination of product you may choose. Please scroll down below the options to see pricing based on your configuration and complete details in the description area.

This bundle includes 1x Victron Energy Lynx Distributor and 1x MK3-USB adapter, required for configuring your choice of MultiPlus Inverter/Charger (learn how in our blog post) You can use the following options to upgrade, add or customize your bundle components. Feel free to contact us with any questions!

We offer three choices for battery monitoring. All include Bluetooth monitoring/configuration/control using the VictronConnect app on your mobile devices.

1) The BMV-712 includes a battery monitoring shunt plus a round display/control panel. You can use a VE.Direct cable to connect the BMV-712 panel to a Cerbo GX/GX device if you add one to your system below. We show the BMV-712 in our v1 example wiring diagram.

2) The SmartShunt (IP65) only has the battery monitoring shunt (no panel). You can use a VE.Direct cable to connect the shunt to a Cerbo GX/GX device if you add one to your system below.

3) The Lynx Shunt VE.Can is designed to pair up with one or more Lynx Distributors. Inside it has a battery monitoring shunt as well as a main system fuse (ANL type for up to 32-volts - sold separately). You can use a VE.Can cable (these are standard, RJ45 "UTP" cables normally used for Ethernet networking) to cable to connect the Lynx Shunt to a Cerbo GX/GX device if you add one to your system below. We show the Lynx Shunt in our v2 example wiring diagram. The Lynx Shunt also enables the indicator lights and fuse monitoring capabilities of the Lynx Distributor which is included in this bundle.

The Cerbo GX MK2 is a great upgrade that allows you to control and monitor your electrical system components with either a 5" or 7" touch screen or using the VictronConnect app via Bluetooth. It also enables you to connect your system to Victron's free online portal called VRM if you have an internet connection in your rig. The Cerbo GX MK2 is also compatible with many third-party components like our SeeLevel tank monitoring kits or sensors like Ruuvitags.

You can choose between 4x touch screen options to pair with the Cerbo GX MK2 that is included with the bundle. The GX Touch 50 and Touch 50 Flush mount are both 5" screens and the GX Touch 70 and Touch 70 Flush mount are 7" screens. They work exactly the same so the options are size and flush or standard mounting.

Be sure to turn on the "custom module" switch at the top of the calculator and then find the specifications of the panels you're looking to use and put that information into the calculator.

You can read about the various controllers we offer here in the solar section of our store. All the controllers offered are "Smart" meaning they can be monitored and configured via Bluetooth with the VictronConnect app. The first number in the product name is the maximum input voltage and the second number is the maximum charging current output. For example, the 100/30 has a maximum input voltage of 100 volts with a maximum charge current of 30 amps.

DC-DC chargers allow you to connect your van's battery to the "house" batteries to charge them while driving. We offer two options in this bundle. The Orion Smart 30 Amp DC-DC Chargers (12/12/30) or the newer, Orion XS 50 Amp DC-DC Charger (12/12/50). Both can be wired in parallel to increase the charging current. For instance 2x, 30 amp Orion DC-DC chargers in parallel would produce a maximum of 60 amps. However, the general guidance is that you should not exceed 50% of your vehicle's factory alternator output rating. The newer, 50 Amp DC-DC Charger features a VE.Direct data connection that can be connected to GX device like a Cerbo GX. Both options are "non-isolated". What they mean by "isolated" is the negative is common/shared on the input and the output. In a vehicle installation, everything is eventually grounded to the chassis and therefore there is no way to actually isolate the grounds. If you have a vehicle towing a trailer/RV where there are two chassis that's another scenario where you could benefit from "isolated" DC-DC chargers.

You can choose between the MultiPlus 12/2000/80, the MultiPlus 12/3000/120, the older version of the MultiPlus 12/3000/120 which is boxier than the newer version, or the MultiPlus II 12/3000/120. The last option - the MultiPlus 12/3000/120 2x 120 - is primarily for larger rigs with 50 amp, two-phase (240 volt) service. Note, you can use a standard Ethernet cable (UTP cable) to connect your inverter/charger to the Cerbo GX using the VE.Bus. We also sell Victron-branded cables for this.

Unlike most Victron components, the MultiPlus inverter/chargers do not have integrated Bluetooth. Below we offer 3x ways to control your MultiPlus (change mode and input current control). If you've added a Cerbo GX to your bundle, you can use that. The other options, below are the Digital MultiControl remote panel or the VE.Bus Smart Bluetooth dongle that adds Bluetooth control.

VE.Direct cables are typically used to connect devices such as a Solar Charge Controller, Orion XS, SmartShunt or BMV-712 to a Cerbo GX. You add one or more 3 feet (.9 meter) VE.Direct cables below. Note that if you choose the BMV-712 for your battery monitor and want to connect that to a Cerbo device, the VE.Direct connection is on the panel/display so, depending the location of that panel you may need a cable longer than 3 feet.

VE.Bus / VE.Can cables are "network-style" cables with RJ45 connectors that are used with Victron VE.Bus products (like a MultiPlus inverter/charger) or VE.Can products (like a Lynx Shunt). Since they are standard, UTP cables you can purchase these Victron Energy cables or use any Ethernet/UTP cable.

This bundle can be used with most "drop-in" lithium batteries such as Battleborn, SOK, Epoch etc. These types of batteries have internal BMS systems to protect them from over/under voltage or under/over temperature. If you don't already have batteries, we offer two great choices below at great prices! In addition to these choices, we sell other internal BMS batteries in our store that ship FREE if you would like to shop other options.

We highly recommend that you have your electrical system installed by a qualified ABYC or Victron Energy certified technician.
